Mennonite Life - Call for Submissions
September 3, 2012Mennonite Life welcomes submissions that deal with the broad intersection of academia and Mennonite theology and experience. Submissions that deal with the arts, literature, science, education, history and other academic areas are all invited. Articles and essays should be accessible to a general audience and preference will be given for submissions that include elements particularly well-suited for online publications, such as photos, audio files, links to other sites or other multi-media approaches. Submissions and inquiries may be directed to mennonite-life@bethelks.edu. -

Manitoba Mennonites--Rhubarb Magazine Special Issuee
August 4, 2012The May issue of Rhubarb magazine featured writing by Manitoba Mennonite writers as well as three essays on the subject by Hildi Froese-Tiessen, Maurice Mierau and David Elias. The issue is available for $10.00 by emailing info@rhubarbmag.com and sending a cheque made out to the Mennonite Literary Society at 606-100 Arthur Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 1H3.
Three issue (annual) subscriptions are $30.00, next three themes plan to address what are often considered taboo in polite mennonite company - Money (December) Sex (March 2013) and Poltics (June 2013). Mennonite Literary Society memberships are $40, which includes a subscription. -

Congo Dawn by John Franz published

From the author bio:Victor Enns was born in Winnipeg in 1955. His hometown reclaimed him for his studies at the Mennonite Collegiate Institute where he graduated with its largest class in 1972; his mother's Studebaker stuck in low gear on the way to the party after graduation.
