Mennonite Playwright Gains National Attention for The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker

Doug Reed's "Fakesperian" play The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walkeris enjoying sold-out shows and has even been feautured on the Rachel Maddow blog.

Tragic times call for tragic measures. There are dark deeds afoot under our Capitol dome. How do the people respond? Some carry signs in protest, and some sign petitions - and if you are a playwright, you write a play. Broom Street Theater is proud to present The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker, written and directed by Doug Reed. Penned in a "Fakespearian" style, The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker is an account of Wisconsin's recent political upheaval, complete with soliloquies, swordfights, and codpieces.

The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker, written and directed by Doug Reed, opens on July 29th and runs until September 4th at 1119 Williamson St. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.
