Beautiful, Andrew. I so remember that fear and darkness and creeping at night to my parents bedroom. I had a similar Lancaster county unbringing to Isaac (not on the farm though), and the ideals, the prayers, the smells and food are so similar. Queer fears are deep, dark and difficult to understand and convey. You did a great job in this chapter and I look forward to reading more. The particular detail of the Jaguar is one that feels 100% accurate! Such dreams! I explore similar hopes for a different life in my essays. Thank you. All the best, -Adam Hostetter
